You are never going to be as young as you are today. Right now. In this very moment.

We have to learn to embrace every morsel of dewy youth we still possess. Because the greedy time monster is slowly sucking it away–-cell by precious cell.

I don’t know about you, but I always saw my butt as too big and my legs as not slim. When I was eighteen, twenty-two, thirty-five.

They weren’t. I was 5’ 7” and 115 lbs. They were amazing. Toned and taut, healthy and beautiful.

But our minds can tell our eyes all sorts of wild tales. I know mine has.

Well, we have to start being the boss of our minds. We dictate what our eyes see. What our hearts feel. It is within our power. We must take charge.

And we can. Stand in front of your mirror, clothed or nude, and find one thing you love about yourself. One thing. Anything. It’s there, I promise. Tell yourself what it is that you love about it. Feel it, embrace it, let it know you love it. And love it. Then step away from the mirror––and carry that love for yourself with you the entire day.

There are many things to love about ourselves and we can’t let the things we don’t like overshadow and bury them. We can find them, if we look.

This is not easy for everyone to do. Probably not easy for most. It took me more than forty years to even begin, and I'm still learning every day. It may require a visual reminder––your bathroom mirror is the perfect place. Just for you, and as simple as this:

Picture
We can eat better, exercise better, use better products and procedures––but none of it matters if we don’t love ourselves better.

The way we choose to see ourselves, and speak to ourselves, is exactly how we will feel. So make it loving, make it good. This, the time monster cannot take from us.

So if you’re sixteen, twenty-five, forty-eight, or sixty-two…

Today is the day to begin loving you. Cell by precious cell. We can do this.

So true!! We are so hard on ourselves... I know I am- especially now after having a baby. I have to remind myself to take care of my healing and the baby and not be so critical. I’m so used to being fit, active and fitting in my clothes a certain way... I need to just relax and not be hard on myself!

You are beautiful in every photo.. even your inner beauty shines through each one, too. Funny how when we find joy in things our happiness truly does radiate like it’s a physical thing you can see! I think we’re al guilty of that “little voice” when we look in the mirror, or don’t perform how we wanted to at something.. we are always our harshest critics, and so it’s absolutely true we could all do with much more self love and self care. The little things: a face mask, a nice walk, time with loved ones.. no matter how big or small, just SOMETHING every single day just for ourselves and our joy. It’s all too easy to get caught up in the routine and the busy-ness of today’s society.. seems we have little time for much any more besides work and our to-do lists!! It’s so important to take a step back to breathe, and refocus on what really matters at the end of the day. Finding joy in the simple things makes all the difference.

Love this! Beautifully said! We are so hard on ourselves if we could only teach the young to start embracing themselves at every age. I love your smile!

You overlooked some of the other things that are "big" on you. Things like your heart, your soul, your compassion, your love.... I could go on and on, but I'd be out of character and people would then be confused. You're a beautiful person, inside and out. Thank you for that. 👍😊💛🙏
